| This new deck required digging far below 18" to get to anything even close to what resembled 'hard pan' because of the high bank fill. If I remember correctly we had to dig down to about shoulder level and use 'wide footprint' ABS footing forms. |

Project description: Rebuild lower portion of deck and restore structural elements on second level and solarium roof. Location: West Vancouver B.C. |

We rebuilt the Entire Lower Deck and Replaced the Support Posts for Both decks that were 'stacked' on top of each other with 'continous' posts, The work was done while the Glass Solarium roof was left in place. We Improved the deck by removing the lateral movement that was evident with 'knee brackets' and replaced the rotten lower deck perimeter bench seats with a aluminum railings to match the upper deck. The upper deck 'flush' beams and random upper deck joist's were removed and replaced with new members while the upper deck and solarium roof were left in place. A portion of the clear cedar decking on the upper deck was replaced aswell. White painted components represent the old and the 'green treated' components represent the replaced components. |
