Points of Interest: Because of the age of the house, the customer was notified that the flooring 'sub strate' was most likely built from recycled form work ship lap which is quite common depending on the year and location of the building and that a requirement for additional work might be needed after the demolition stage to bring the floor into specification for the proposed tile/stone application and shower design.

It turned out that a few previous 'hack' renovations had taken place over the years and the exsiting sub floor was 'pieced' together and missing large sections from drainage pipes, dryer venting and heat venting. The whole lot was pulled out and the joisting had to be perimeter blocked, reinforced and repaired before re-sheathing could take place.

The details: The customer liked the idea of an alcove over the pedestal sink and after I built it, the 'finished' alcove width matched the width of the sink and allowed enough height clearance for a mirror installation.

Design elements: The natural stone and the placement and usage of the banding decor strips looks really impressive. The type and placement of lighting also compliments everything that was done and makes the bathroom very inviting once it has been accessorized.

The wall mounted Heated towel rack brings further comfort to this space along with a water proof shower light and a completely silent remotely mounted bathroom fan.
